Welcome to my fundraising page - This year I'm participating in the Get Your Rear in Gear 5K for my wife.

Four years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer while we were expecting our first child. For months during her pregnancy, her symptoms were written off as normal. It took until six months after our son was born for her to finally get a colonoscopy and a diagnosis. Today, she is three years with no evidence of disease — and she is my hero.

Colorectal cancer is no longer just a disease of older adults. It's now the leading cause of cancer death in Americans under 50. Cases in younger people have nearly doubled over the past two decades. Diagnosis delays are common because too many providers — and patients — don't see it coming.
