A MESSAGE FROM Maureen’s Marchers Fundraising Page
Hi friends and family. Somehow, it’s been five years since my amazing, strong, courageous mother, Maureen Shaffer, died from colon cancer.
In memory of her, as well as many other loved ones who bravely fought this disease: Uncle John & Uncle Alan, my family and I have registered as virtual racers for the Get Your Rear in Gear 5k. This means we will be raising funds for those in the local Philadelphia area, and completing the 5k at a local park. (Let us know if you’d like to join us, and I’ll provide the address, etc.)
The Colon Cancer Coalition raises funds for awareness, screenings and more. It is also dear to our hearts, as they awarded my mom with the Maude Daniels Award in 2020, an award that recognizes a colon cancer warrior. Which she was, until the very end.
If you can donate, we would really appreciate it. Also, please help us spread awareness of this awful disease, and the importance of getting screened. Tomorrow can’t wait.
